With his expertise in accounting and taxation, François focuses on reporting issues such as taxes and regulatory filings (T3010), financial reports (financial statements), social reports (societal impact), and reports on the awarding of grants. A full professor of accounting and taxation at the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University in Ottawa, François is involved in various projects related to the financial and tax aspects of charities, non-profit organizations, and social enterprises. He is a member of the Professional Accounting Research Group (PARG) and the Research Group on Comedy Industry (GRIH).

As founding director of the Sprott Centre for Social Enterprise (SCSE), his focus is on social entrepreneurship and the management of charitable and non-profit organizations. François is coordinator of the T3010 data users research group.
