Andréanne Brunet-Bélanger holds a bachelor’s degree in international law and international relations and a master’s degree in political science from UQAM. She is currently a doctoral candidate in political science at the University of Montreal. Her studies focus on the processes of transferring international norms into domestic law and their effect on the users of these rights. She is interested in how international law can (or cannot) serve as a resource and a space for developing participation for Indigenous communities in the Paraguayan Chaco. More generally, her interests focus on the overlap between the legal and political spheres, as well as feminist criticism of law.

Regarding Philab’s activities, Andréanne Brunet Bélanger was a research assistant on issues linking philanthrocapitalism to market creation in Africa. She also worked on collaborative research projects on the role of foundations in addressing social inequalities.
