Phase 1 – Litterature review
The overall questions are:
- How do racialized people and minority communities in Canada come together in times of need to build resilience?
- What are the mutual assistance approaches popularly adopted by racialized groups in times of increased discrimination as well as resistance?
- How have racialized people contributed to the Canadian way of volunteerism and humanitarianism through their actions of giving and sharing?
As all communities across the country are facing unprecedented economic and health challenges, this proposed literature review seeks to understand and document proliferating philanthropic and communal caregiving initiatives led by some racialized groups such as Black, Hispanic, Asian, and Indigenous organizations, and mutual aid networks in Canada.
