Procedures for Submitting and Evaluation Criteria for an Internal Funding Application for a Research or Knowledge Mobilization Activity

Funding Conditions and Criteria
To be eligible for the PhiLab start-up grant, the person responsible for a research or knowledge transfer proposal must:

  • Be a PhiLab researcher member or affiliated with a partner organization in the network;
  • Clearly align the project with one or more of the four main areas of PhiLab’s scientific program;
  • Demonstrate the commitment of at least one partner from the philanthropic or non-profit sectors;
  • Ensure the active involvement of at least one Master’s or Doctoral student in the project;
  • Present a structured financial plan including:
    • the amount requested under the PhiLab seed grant,
    • as well as additional contributions from other sources (e.g., MITACS or other programs),
    • or financial or in-kind contributions from partners;
  • Submit a complete and compliant application to the Research and Knowledge Valorization Committee (CRVC).

Types of Funding

Research Start-up Grant:

  • A maximum amount of $2,500 to prepare a research proposal and complete the financial package.
