This report presents an in-depth analysis of the support ecosystem for nonprofit organizations (NPOs) in Quebec. It builds on an initial quantitative study that mapped this ecosystem and established an interactive database. The objective of this report is to highlight, based on semi-structured interviews conducted with a representative sample of stakeholders in the ecosystem, the dynamics that structure and drive it.

This report thus explores the realities faced by NPOs and assesses the effects on their operations and long-term development. The results are presented in three parts: first, the characteristics of the ecosystem supporting NPOs; second, an assessment of its main strengths and weaknesses; and finally, a formulation of several avenues for reflection to strengthen the coherence and effectiveness of this ecosystem.
