Biographie

As the coordinator of the recently formed PhiLab Atlantic Hub, it will be my role to help develop the short-term and long-term objectives of the hub alongside the Director and research and community partners. My research interests focus on ways in which research can or cannot be used as an avenue for community development in rural communities. Recently working on various projects exploring philanthropic community development, I hope to work with PhiLab and the Atlantic Hub to better understand the landscape of philanthropy in Atlantic Canada and how a research and capacity building relationship can promote social, environmental and economic change.

Miscellaneous

Apart from academia, I spend as much time outside as possible. The winter months I find myself on the slopes strapped to my snowboard and in the summer months (or as much summer as we get in Newfoundland), I am either hiking with my dog or camping with some pals! It’s important to balance time spent working in front of the computer with fresh air and sunshine (or snow?).
