PhiLab is happy to invite you to participate in our upcoming webinar by PhiLab students, for the students.
The PhiLab Academy prioritizes the training and professional development of students through research and knowledge mobilization activities.
The goal of this online interactive meet and greet is three-fold:
(1) support new PhiLab students as they transition in their educational career,
(2) build a connection between emerging, like-minded scholars across the country.
(3) Break the academic isolation accentuated by COVID-19
Predominately led in English, with the possibility of asking questions in French, the online meeting will bring together students from each regional hub to share their experience as a PhiLab student thus far. All other PhiLab students, including new students, will be invited to participate and ask questions to the other students as well as some administrators who will be on the call.
Among the topics to be discussed are how to produce content for PhiLab newsletters (such as blog posts or infographics), applying for additional project funding, current projects led by PhiLab students, potential areas for collaboration across Hubs and ideas for after graduation and PhiLab. The meet-and-greet will be recorded and posted for those who miss it, and the written transcript will be provided with major themes and FAQ’s highlighted.
For your information, PhiLab’s Quebec Hub is hosting its annual Student Day virutally on November 26th from 10am to 3pm Eastern time, where students will be able to present their personal projects (Masters or Ph.D.) before their peers and professors. The day’s objective is to practice presenting their project as well as seeking out research advice. The event is bilingual. Each student can present their work in French or English. If you would like to participate, please contact Diane Alalouf-Hall at philabquebec@uqam.ca and signal your presence here.
