Description of the Organization
The Dufresne and Gauthier Foundation (DGF) was created in 2001 and supports projects in Quebec and in Mongolia that aim to “make a difference” in the lives of countless children from underprivileged areas where youth are in an at-risk situation. For strategic reasons and questions of available resources, in Quebec, DGF focuses their efforts on the metropolitan Montreal area, the greater area of Quebec and that of Charlevoix. Our mission consists in helping children from more at-risk families and to youth in at-risk situations by supporting rallying projects, carried-out by families and organizations of a neighborhood or community, and which contribute to the wellbeing of the children and to the respect of their fundamental rights.
Partnership with PhiLab
This research project is an excellent opportunity to document our practices (group evaluations by our peers and our NRV meetings (networking, resourcing, and valuation)), and more specifically our approach, which we qualify as proximity philanthropy. In addition, we hope that this research will contribute to a better definition of the impacts on social inequalities and the work of the Quebec Foundation Collective.
