The Catherine Donnelly Foundation supports bold and innovative initiatives that advocate and pioneer new strategies to advance the interests of those most marginalized in our society and/or that further ecological justice. We are committed to promoting positive social change through funding in our priorities areas of Environment, Housing, Adult Education, and Impact Investing. The Foundation sees itself as an active participant in advocating for viable alternatives and solutions that address the roots of systemic social inequalities.
The Catherine Donnelly Foundation is interested in supporting and participating in the PhiLab project because we are in agreement that it is paramount that the Canadian public has a better understanding of the role and place of Canadian foundations in addressing societal challenges. We look forward to a deeper understanding of how the philanthropic sector as a whole can measure impact; identify practical ways of mainstreaming good practices ; model, systematize and theorize knowledge; and build an alliance between the Canadian academic community and the grant making philanthropic sector.
