How to Host a Virtual Annual General Meeting

Organizing and hosting an annual general meeting is stressful at the BEST of times! Factor in a global pandemic and moving everything online and you might be feeling a whole new level of anxiety and dread this year. Fear not! Join us Thursday, July 16th @ 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (CST) to learn from a panel of brave souls that have already held their annual general meetings. They will share the lessons they learned, arming you with practical tips and insights that will help ease your fears. You will learn need-to-know information about bylaws, important considerations for ensuring accessibility, and much more.

Shari Hildred, PMP Shari Hildred, PMP is owner of Valmore Consulting Inc. Shari’s background includes a 20-year track record of proven accomplishment in areas of nonprofit organizational and strategic management, professional project delivery and adult education.
Speakers:
Christie Fessler: Christie is a board member with REACH and past board chair of the YWCA Regina. She served on the YWCA Regina Board of Directors for 11 years and has been with REACH for just over a year now. She has participated in and helped facilitate virtual AGMs for both organizations. During the day, she is the supervisor of Print and Production Services at Farm Credit Canada. Paige Ross Paige Ross is the Manager, Brand Engagement with United Way of Calgary and Area. With a background in sponsorship and event management, she plays an active role in planning and execution of the public facing events that United Way in Calgary hosts. 2020 saw a shift in the role as all events have gone digital–including their AGM which hosted over 170 guests, and included a musical performance to enhance the experience. Gloria DeSantis (PhD), is the Head of the Justice Studies Department at the University of Regina. Her teaching and research areas of expertise are nonprofits/charities, advocacy, social justice and community engagement. Before moving to academia, she worked for almost 20 years in a number of nonprofits as an executive director, senior manager, research director and community planner. She is also President of the Association for Nonprofit and Social Economy Research, a national organization that just went through its first virtual AGM.
