Caregiving is an essential form of solidarity for the conservation of our social fabric, as well as for the administration of care to those dependent on others for their wellbeing. In Quebec, it is a fourth of the population who declares themselves to be in a caregiving situation. This being said, caregivers are not being supported at the height of the importance of their public service, one that allows a decent quality of life to so many. Despite their crucial role within and around the healthcare system, caregivers’ work is often rendered invisible. There is still much left to do in terms of resources and public structuring in order to properly support them in the pursuit of their daily commitment.
