Special edition, April 2018: Philanthropy in Europe

Although the philanthropic system in the United States is recognized as being the most developed in the world, European philanthropy closely follows it. A look towards this continent reveals a world where generosity blossoms and where a flora of rich and diversified philanthropic foundations develops. After all, despite the fact that US foundations hold assets almost twice as large, European foundations spend about as much, which represents about 54 billion in 2015 (see the study of the Observatory Foundation de France and CERPHI) . By focusing on this philanthropy from overseas, this newsletter proposes to study the evolution of philanthropy in a fundamentally different, but no less dynamic, context than America.
