Shannon Chernick

Biography

Shannon has 20 years of experience supporting public policy development and implementation for the Saskatchewan provincial government and the non-profit sector. Shannon worked for the Ministry of Parks, Culture, Sport and Recreation for a decade supporting the development of governance structures, legislative revision, grants management and volunteer management systems and transition processes for arms-length agencies. As well she supported the Saskatchewan Lotteries for Sport, Culture and Recreation agreement and the relationship between the provincial government and the arts, sport, culture and recreation sector.

For the last decade, Shannon has committed herself to the non-profit sector providing support to organizations in the change management process with an expertise in developing effective governance structures, volunteer management systems and systematic grant funding strategies. Shannon’s program management skills have resulted in the expansion of several local programs to province-wide initiatives.

Shannon’s passion is connecting kids with nature to support positive mental and physical health. She enjoys hiking, downhill skiing, connecting with nature and generally spending time outside with her family in all four seasons!
