How Foundations in the West are Responding to COVID-19 Pandemic
- In British Columbia, United Way of Greater Victoria along with Accents Inns partnered to establish the Hotels for Frontline Workers Fund. The fund directly supports the cost of accommodating essential service workers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
- In Alberta, United Way of Calgary and Area established COVID-19 Funding for Social Sector Organizations in partnership with the City of Calgary to support Calgary’s communities during the pandemic.
- In Saskatchewan, United Way Regina along with Employment & Social Development Canada (ESDC) established the Seniors Response Fund . This fund supports programs for vulnerable seniors who have been directly impacted by the pandemic.
- In Manitoba, United Way Winnipeg set up the COVID-19 Community Response Fund that provides aid to seniors and other in-need community members.
